    In Dijon, UBE has officially kicked off the new academic year!

    On Thursday 17 September, the Dijon campus’s official opening ceremony took place on Esplanade Erasme, marking the start of Color Campus 2026, the flagship event of Campus Days.

    On this occasion, Vincent THOMAS, President of UBE, in the presence of Pierre PRIBETICH, Member of Parliament for the 3rd constituency of Côte-d’Or, Océane GODARD, Member of Parliament for the 1st constituency of Côte-d’O, Laëtitia MARTINEZ, 14th Vice-President of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regional Council responsible for higher education, research and innovation, Marie-Hélène JUILLARD-RANDRIAND, 15th Vice-President of Dijon Métropole, responsible for higher education, research and innovation, Murielle BALDI, Chief Executive of the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Axel LIMACHER, Deputy Chief Executive of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, Bénédicte MAGERAND, Director of DECA-BFC, Jérôme M’RABET, Director of the Dijon branch of the Crous Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Adèle MAUPETIT, Student Life Project Manager at Dijon Métropole, Christophe SCHEIDHAUER, Higher Education, Research and Innovation Officer at Dijon Métropole, Véronique-Laure VERRAEST, 7th Vice-President for the Conservatoire, Higher Education and Relations with Cultural and Academic Organisations at Mâconnais-Beaujolais Agglomération, outlined the key challenges facing our institution for the coming year:

    • The priority given to student success, which lies at the heart of the university’s activities;
    • Student wellbeing and support, through various initiatives aimed at combating discrimination and gender-based and sexual violence, as well as the introduction of period leave;
    • UBE’s strategy for excellence, whose international standing is confirmed in particular by its presence in several international rankings, including the Shanghai Ranking.

    The President also addressed the introduction of the decree on differentiated rights for international students and reaffirmed UBE’s position, which considers this measure to be contrary to the principles of equal access to higher education and likely to undermine the international appeal of our university and our country.

    The ceremony then continued with a celebration of the students who achieved the best results during the 2025–2026 academic year. The top graduates of their year, as well as UBE’s elite athletes, were invited onto the stage and presented with an award in recognition of their academic and sporting achievements.
