DuoDays are back at UBE!
As part of European Disability Employment Week (EDEW), held from 17 to 21 November 2025, UBE once again welcomed several people with disabilities to introduce them to the various professions within UBE.
The initiative is led by ALGEEI in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Health, Solidarity and Families and consists of a day of discovery work experience in a company, unpaid, for all people with disabilities: this year, UBE welcomed a total of 12 different pairs. The diversity of the professions on show reflects the wide range of roles available at Université Bourgogne Europe.
Among the different professions presented, participants were able to discover the professions of librarian, house painter, XR project manager, audiovisual manager, secretary and higher education teacher.
DuoDay enables people with disabilities to discover a working environment, clarify their career plans, imagine themselves in a job situation, verify their choices or discover a new profession. It also allows them to forge useful relationships in their search for employment.
At the DIJON IUT, Florian introduced Charles to his profession as an audiovisual manager.
Together, they visited several rooms at the IUT, including the recording studio and offices. Florian also demonstrated how the computer equipment available to teachers and students works.
At the Dijon IUT, Sarah introduced Sébastien to her profession as a house painter
Sébastien accompanied Sarah during her working day as a painter and decorator at UBE’s Dijon IUT ! He was able to discover her daily routine, her work tools and take part in the renovation of an old reprographics room into a boardroom.
At Le Cortex University Library, staff members introduced six participants to the diversity of their professions
Le Cortex University Library welcomed six participants interested in discovering the professions and activities offered within UBE’s university libraries: sustainable development activities in the university library, the documentary chain, searching for books in the catalogue, a tour of the heritage collection in the Law and Literature University Library, and a tour of Le Cortex recording studio.
Within the Digital Education and Resources Department (PNR) of the Digital Directorate (DNUM), Clément introduced Mathéis to his role as XR Project Manager.
Digitisation of collections, augmented and virtual reality, 3D modelling, presentation of material aids for students with disabilities… Mathéis, a computer science student at Dijon IUT, discovered the daily life of Clément, XR project manager within the PNR department of UBE’s Digital Division.
