Shanghai 2025 thematic ranking: The University of Burgundy Europe advances in four thematic areas

Since 2014, the University of Burgundy Europe has been featured in several leading international rankings that recognise the quality of its teaching and research. For the ninth consecutive year, UBE also appears in the Shanghai ranking and has improved in four subject areas.

Following the publication of its overall ranking, which takes place every year on 15 August, and as it does every year at the same time, Shanghai, the prestigious international ranking, has just released its subject rankings.

Across all subject areas, the University of Burgundy Europe has consolidated its position in two fields: ‘Food Sciences and Technology’ (151-200) and ‘Clinical Medicine’ (401-500) and has strengthened its positionin four subject areas: ‘Atmospheric Science’ (301-400), “Human Biological Science

(201-300), ‘Agricultural Science’ (401-500) and ‘Medical Technology’ (201-300).

These new rankings reinforce the strategic position and scientific strength of UBE. The university salutes all the researchers, doctoral students and administrative and technical staff who, on a daily basis, bring their talent and passion to their work, contributing to the reputation of our institution in close collaboration with our partners (CHU Dijon Bourgogne, CGFL and ONR CNRS, INRAE and INSERM).

As a reminder, for the ninth consecutive year, the 2025 Shanghai ranking places the University of Burgundy Europe between 601st and 700th place, and 20th place nationally. UBE is thus among the top 5% of institutions worldwide. This ranking confirms the importance of its commitment and its leading role in the development of higher education and research in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
