We Are Magic! A Collective Mobilisation in Support of Student Solidarity

On Friday, 12 December 2025, the CSE (Student Solidarity Committee) organised a new edition of the Student Solidarity Christmas event entitled We Are Magic!, in collaboration with POSSIBLE Agency. This unifying event, dedicated to solidarity, the fight against student precariousness and well-being on campus, has been held for five years.

The official launch of the day took place in the presence of Vincent Thomas, President of Université Bourgogne Europe, Vanessa Vaizant, Vice-President in charge of Disability and Solidarity, Laetitia Martinez, Regional Councillor for Bourgogne–Franche-Comté, and Murielle Baldi, Managing Director of Crous Bourgogne–Franche-Comté. This moment highlighted the strong commitment of all stakeholders to supporting students and developing solidarity initiatives within the university community.

Organised with the support of POSSIBLE Agency, a key partner in the coordination and implementation of the event, this Student Solidarity Christmas brought together numerous institutional, non-profit and economic stakeholders alongside Université Bourgogne Europe.

Throughout the day, students benefited from a range of initiatives designed to meet their essential needs and promote well-being: a free solidarity thrift market providing access to clothing, everyday items and food products; well-being workshops (make-up, nail care, treatments, reflexology) offering moments of relaxation and attentive listening; as well as cultural and festive activities fostering conviviality and social connection.

The festive evening was officially launched in the presence of Nathalie Koenders, Mayor of Dijon, who attended the opening of the Orchestre Stock concert, a highlight of this edition. This musical moment was followed by a solidarity fashion show showcasing the commitment of students and partners, with the participation of Ophélie Roussot, Miss Côte-d’Or 2025.

The day concluded with a convivial meal and a festive evening, encouraging exchanges and strengthening the sense of belonging within the university community.

Université Bourgogne Europe extends its sincere thanks to all the volunteers, students, partners and staff whose commitment and availability were essential to the success of this event. Through their involvement, they actively contribute to making the Student Solidarity Christmas a flagship event, embodying the values of solidarity, inclusion and cohesion that drive Université Bourgogne Europe.
