Winter School “Movement Signals and AI”: an immersive, international week on the Dijon campus
The second edition of the Graduate Programme’s winter school “Movement Signals and AI” was held in early January 2026 on the Dijon campus, confirming the success of this intensive, international format. For one week, 26 Master’s students came together, including 17 from partner universities in the European FORTHEM Alliance (Agder, Mainz, Jyväskylä and Sibiu).
Taught entirely in English, this Graduate Programme offers training at the interface of movement sciences and artificial intelligence. Participants develop advanced skills in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of physiological data, with practical applications in the fields of sport and health.
A scientific immersion at the heart of research
A key moment in the programme, the winter school enabled students to put into practice the knowledge they had acquired over the previous months. Hosted at the Espace Marey, the platform of the CAPS laboratory (INSERM U1093 – Université Bourgogne Europe) laboratory, this immersive week offered privileged access to state-of-the-art equipment and the expertise of renowned researchers.
The courses were based on around thirty video clips developed specifically for the programme and accessible via the FORTHEM academy, promoting a hybrid and progressive teaching approach.
Graduate Programmes: a lever for enhanced, interdisciplinary training
Since September 2024, the University of Burgundy Europe has offered 21 Graduate Programmes open to Master’s students. These complementary, interdisciplinary and research-based courses offer innovative theoretical and practical teaching, ranging from the exact sciences to the humanities and social sciences.
Like the “Movement Signals and AI” programme, some Graduate Programmes have a strong international dimension thanks to the FORTHEM Alliance. They offer truly distinctive courses, strengthening students’ skills with a view to pursuing a PhD or qualified professional integration.
