Digital innovation: the SCI-NUM Federation introduces itself to socio-economic stakeholders

Université Bourgogne Europe is organising a presentation day for the SCI-NUM Federation on Tuesday 31 March, in the Polytech lecture theatre. This event, focused on innovation and partnership, aims to strengthen links between the academic world and local socio-economic stakeholders around digital challenges.

High-level scientific expertise

The SCI-NUM Federation brings together a major scientific community comprising around 100 permanent lecturers and researchers specialising in digital technology, as well as some 60 PhD and post-doctoral students.

Its areas of expertise cover a broad spectrum: networks, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, multimodal data processing, cyber-physical systems, digital twins, computer vision, signal and image processing, 3D modelling, robotics, optimisation, theoretical computer science and advanced algorithms.

This expertise finds practical applications in numerous strategic sectors: healthcare, mobility, transport, heritage, manufacturing, computer-aided design (CAD), telecommunications and the environment.

A key player in bridging the gap between research and innovation

The SCI-NUM Federation plays a key role in the regional ecosystem by

• Facilitating scientific collaboration between laboratories and businesses;

• Encouraging the development of innovative collaborative projects;

• Disseminating scientific knowledge to a wide range of audiences through outreach and engagement activities.

A programme focused on exchange

This event will bring together around sixty participants, including 17 companies and 12 innovation support organisations. It will feature several key highlights:

• 10.00 am: Opening and presentation of SCI-NUM’s research activities

• 10.30 am: Feedback from companies and start-ups

• 11.00 am: Presentation of the companies and their innovation projects

• 11.30 am: Presentations by commercialisation and support organisations

• 12.00 pm: Buffet and networking session between researchers and companies

The SCI-NUM Federation is supported by three member laboratories:

• The LIB Laboratory
