UBE brings together its regional campuses in Le Creusot to strengthen synergies and promote regional ties

On Thursday 7 May, Université Bourgogne Europe organised a day of discussions bringing together employees from its regional campuses in Auxerre, Chalon-sur-Saône, Le Creusot, Mâcon and Nevers.

Around fifty participants (lecturers, research lecturers, administrative staff, as well as partners from CROUS and local authorities) took part in this meeting, with representatives from all sites.

The aim of this meeting was to share best practices, exchange experiences and strengthen synergies between the various campuses. It also highlighted the richness and complementarity of UBE’s regional campuses. Working closely with local authorities, these campuses play a vital role in facilitating young people’s access to higher education and meeting the training, research and innovation needs of the local industrial and socio-economic fabric.

Following a welcome address by Vincent Thomas, President of the University, and a presentation of the various campuses and their latest projects, the morning discussions focused on initiatives relating to student life, health and solidarity. Visitors were then given a tour of the Laser and Materials Processing research building (ICB laboratory), the CALHIPSO Platform, the Hub & Go Technology Park, Le Creusot university canteen and Le Creusot university library.

In the afternoon, participants went to Condorcet University Centre for a series of themed workshops focusing on research, communication and training, international relations, and finally administration and services. Several vice-presidents, as well as the Director General of Services at UBE, were present for the occasion. The day concluded with a summary of the workshops and discussions.
