Université Bourgogne Europe pays tribute to the memory of François Patriat

Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) was deeply saddened to learn of the death of François Patriat.

As President of the Burgundy Regional Council from 2004 to 2015, François Patriat left a lasting mark on our region. During his two terms in office, the Region reaffirmed its commitment to higher education and research, supporting the development of Burgundy’s university campuses and helping to drive the major transformations that have shaped the region’s academic and scientific landscape.

A former minister and senator for Côte-d’Or, François Patriat devoted nearly half a century to public life, always driven by a deep attachment to Burgundy and its people.

UBE extends its most sincere condolences to his family, his loved ones, and to all those who worked alongside him and supported him throughout his service to our region.

It wishes to send a special message to his brother, Claude Patriat, Professor Emeritus of Political Science and a member of CREDESPO, expressing its support to him during this difficult time.
