60th anniversary of the Dijon/Cluj-Napoca twinning: UBE strengthens its links with Babeș-Bolyai University

As part of the 60th anniversary of the twinning between Dijon and Cluj-Napoca, a delegation from Dijon visited Romania to celebrate this historic relationship and boost future exchanges. The trip was part of a shared desire to promote Franco-Romanian friendship through academic, cultural and institutional cooperation.
In Cluj-Napoca, a delegation made up of representatives from Université Bourgogne Europe and institutional players from Dijon gave concrete expression to this ambition through a series of high-level meetings.
On Friday 22 May, an official ceremony was organised by Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB), marking the desire to continue the relations already existing between UBB and UBE, and to develop them with the increased possibilities now offered by the university’s transformation into Université Bourgogne Europe.
A historic collaboration, looking to the future

The meeting provided an opportunity to lay the foundations for a new stage of cooperation between UBE and UBB, one that is both broader and more structured. This partnership is based on an already solid foundation of university relations, but now aims to develop further thanks to the transformation of Université Bourgogne Europe, with renewed resources and strategy.
Scientific excellence and European influence
Fabrice Neiers, professor of biochemistry and researcher at UBE’s ICB laboratory, contributed to the event with a lecture in Cluj-Napoca town hall on the sensory perception of food – a demonstration of the scientific excellence of UBE and its willingness to engage in dialogue with other European research centres.
UBE’s participation in these exchanges illustrates its mission: to train, innovate and cooperate at the heart of the European higher education area.
Towards new perspectives
The event marks an important milestone in UBE’s European development. It paves the way for new practical cooperation, both academic and cultural. As part of this dynamic, an exhibition was organised in Cluj-Napoca by ENSAD (École nationale supérieure d’art et design de Dijon).
