A look back at the 2026 edition of International Women’s Day at UBE
To mark International Women’s Day, Université Bourgogne Europe organised an awareness-raising day on Friday 6 March 2026 at Maison des Sciences Sociales et des Humanités in Dijon.
The day was held in amphitheatre of Maison des Sciences de l’Homme. Participants were first welcomed with coffee before the official opening of the day by Vincent Thomas, President of Université Bourgogne Europe.
In a university, the issue of women’s rights takes on particular significance because we are a place of learning. […] It is our responsibility to be here on our campuses, spaces where equality is built, practised and defended every day.
Vincent Thomas, President of Université Bourgogne Europe
A conference-debate entitled ‘Coercive control: women’s rights and health’ then brought together Andreea Vintila, Doctor of Social Psychology and Senior Lecturer at Université Paris 10 Nanterre La Défense, and Françoise Mariotti, psychologist and Doctor of Psychology.
The morning continued with a presentation of the action plan on professional equality between women and men by Edith Salès-Wuillemin, Vice-President for Quality of Life at Work and Professional Equality between Women and Men at UBE.
The afternoon began with a welcome coffee, followed by discussions on the ‘2026 Annual Report on the State of Sexism in France: The Masculinist Threat,’ published by the High Council for Equality.
The day ended with the award ceremony for the student competition ‘A More Inclusive Health System’, organised with the support of Harmonie Mutuelle and in partnership with Elle-s à Dijon.
