Call for FORTHEM Lab projects 2025-2026 for students, researchers and academics

A call for projects aimed at students, teachers and researchers has just been launched and will close on 15 October.
For students, this is an opportunity to gain experience in international cooperation and develop essential professional skills. Working with students from other European universities on a joint project will allow you to acquire or strengthen your teamwork, communication and project management skills.
For teachers and/or researchers, this call for projects can enable you to integrate international cooperation into your courses and involve your students in a project. A variety of formats are encouraged, such as course development, events, creative initiatives or any other collaborative activity that promotes student engagement and international cooperation.
This opportunity allows you to benefit from funding of up to 5,000€ to carry out a project related to the following FORTHEM labs:
- Diversity and Migration Lab
- Food Science Lab
- Digital Transformation Lab
- Cultural Heritage Lab
- Climate and Resource Lab
- Experiencing Europe Lab
- Resilience, Life Quality and Demographic Change Lab
Please note that the Art and Aesthetics in Contemporary Society and Multilingualism at School and in Higher Education labs are not participating in this call for projects.
To be selected, your project must involve two partners from the FORTHEM alliance. Projects in cooperation with an external partner are encouraged.
Your project can last from two weeks to one semester and must be completed by the end of August 2026.
Project leaders commit to producing some form of communication for dissemination to the alliance (blog article, social media post, video, podcast, etc.).
You will also be asked to submit a project report.
Eligible costs include:
- Travel expenses (accommodation, transport and living expenses) for project partners and third parties participating in the project.
NB: student travel expenses are calculated on the same basis as for FORTHEM short-term mobility (details can be found in the ‘funding’ section by following this link: https://www.forthem-alliance.eu/get-involved/students/individual-short-term-mobility).
- Materials needed to carry out the project (the eligibility of certain materials will be verified once the provisional budget has been submitted)
- Dissemination costs.
- Renting of premises and catering.
For more information and to submit your project, please visit this link: https://www.forthem-alliance.eu/media/events/detailed-view/final-call-for-the-forthem-lab-projects
When completing the project submission form, you will be asked to describe the planned actions and the expected costs incurred. As assessing the feasibility and eligibility of costs can be time-consuming with several partners involved, please provide as much detail as possible and prepare the detailed budget that will be requested once the project has been approved.
