FORTHEM adopts its 2030 strategy for European higher education

After two years of collective work involving the governance, students, missions and experts of the partner universities, in May 2025 the FORTHEM Alliance officially adopted its Strategy for Transnational Higher Education to 2030. This ambitious roadmap aims to :

Strengthen collaboration between institutions: Partner universities will work together to share resources, knowledge and good practice. This includes joint projects, exchange programmes and collaborative research initiatives.

Promoting mobility and intercultural exchange: The Alliance wants to increase opportunities for students, researchers and staff to move between partner universities, whether physically, virtually or in hybrid form. This will enable them to enjoy enriching cultural experiences and develop international skills.

Encouraging pedagogical and scientific innovation: FORTHEM will put in place initiatives to promote new teaching and research methods. This includes the use of innovative technologies, the development of interdisciplinary programmes and support for innovative research projects.

The overall objective is to support the transformation of universities and create a network of opportunities for all stakeholders – students, researchers, staff and partners. By creating a dynamic, multilingual European campus, FORTHEM hopes to prepare universities to meet the challenges of the future and play a key role in global higher education.
