Official ceremony for the awarding of the Palmes Académiques 2025
On 9 December 2025, President Vincent Thomas awarded the Palmes Académiques to eight members of staff at Université Bourgogne Europe.
The Academic Palms award ceremony is one of the last events to close out a busy year at UBE. ‘Solemnity,’ ‘conviviality,’ and ‘symbolism’ were the values that set the tone for this ceremony.
Created by Napoleon I by decree on 19 March 1808, its purpose at the time was to honour members of the imperial university. Today, it aims to reward individuals who have rendered outstanding services to national education or the university, or who have made an exceptional contribution to the enrichment of cultural heritage.
Among the ranks awarded by the Association of Members of the Order of Academic Palms, four Knight medals, three Officer medals and one Commander medal were presented to UBE staff.
- Awarded the title of Knight:
Sandrine HOUBIN, ADJAENES – Head of the Health Sciences Faculty Staff Office
