The FORTHEM Alliance meets in Dijon for the 2025 Annual Summit
From 4 to 6 November 2025, the University of Burgundy Europe, through its FORTHEM department, hosted the FORTHEM Annual Summit in Dijon, a major event for the European alliance. Over three days, around sixty representatives from the nine partner universities came together to exchange ideas, collaborate and map out future prospects.
A highlight for European cooperation
The summit provided an opportunity to take stock of joint achievements, highlight shared successes and reflect on strategic directions and future projects. The presence of Sophie Schöndube, representative of the European Commission, provided valuable insight into the current and future challenges facing the European Higher Education Area.
Between work and conviviality
Beyond the working sessions, participants were able to discover the cultural and gastronomic riches of Dijon. A guided tour of the city, followed by an immersion in the international food fair, offered moments of relaxation and conviviality, strengthening the bonds between partners.
Promoting research and talent
The summit also featured the Researcher Grand Prix, a competition showcasing doctoral students from member universities. These young researchers presented their work with passion, to the applause of participants, before closing the three days of work with a festive event at the Atheneum.
An alliance focused on the future
These meetings confirmed the shared desire to grow FORTHEM by consolidating collaborations and affirming its role in building an inclusive and innovative European higher education area.
