Université Bourgogne Europe, winner of the Burgundy Franche-Comté Mobility Challenge in its category

The 5th edition of the mobility challenge was UBE’s second time participating, and it won the challenge in the category for organisations with more than 1,000 employees. The aim of this initiative is to encourage participating public and private organisations to mobilise their employees to adopt alternative modes of transport for their commutes.

The Bourgogne Franche-Comté mobility challenge is organised every year by ADEME Bourgogne Franche-Comté, in partnership with the Region, DREAL and CCIR Bourgogne Franche-Comté. From 15 to 21 September, the 2025 edition is mobilising participating public and private establishments to encourage their employees to use alternatives to private cars for their commutes.

Increased mobilisation and some figures

In total, UBE recorded 162 participants, twice as many as during its first participation last year.

Thanks to their commitment, the results are:

  • 14,707 km travelled using alternative modes of transport (cycling, walking, bus, tram, carpooling, etc.)
  • 144 journeys made on foot, 370 journeys by bicycle
  • A total of 247 single-occupant car journeys avoided

1st place in the category for establishments with more than 1,000 employees

An approach that is part of the institution’s commitments (S3DRSE)

Participation in the Mobility Challenge is fully in line with our sustainable development, social and environmental responsibility (S3DRSE) master plan and demonstrates our commitment to promoting sustainable mobility practices and alternative transport to reduce emissions linked to travel to campus.

A success made possible by the participants

UBE would like to express its sincere thanks to all participants in this 5th edition of the challenge for their commitment and motivation.
It would also like to thank the Bourgogne Franche-Comté Region and ADEME Bourgogne Franche-Comté, in partnership with the Region, DREAL and CCIR Bourgogne Franche-Comté, for organising this initiative.
