Université Bourgogne Europe ranked by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies at Leiden University
The Leiden Open Edition 2025 international ranking places Université Bourgogne Europe in 21st place among French universities.
The CWTS Leiden Ranking Open Edition 2025 assesses the scientific performance of more than 2,800 institutions based on bibliometric indicators from OpenAlex, an open-access database that makes all of its data, algorithms and source codes publicly available.
Université Bourgogne Europe is included in this ranking, marking its presence among academic institutions with international influence. This inclusion is testament to the remarkable scientific activity of the university’s researchers and its internationally recognised research output. Of a total of 1,515 publications listed, 148 are among the 10% most cited in the world, representing 9.8% of the scientific output of Université Bourgogne Europe.
The presence of Université Bourgogne Europe in 21st place among 84 French higher education institutions is part of a drive to promote the research carried out by its teams and partners. This ranking attests to the quality of the work carried out in all disciplines at the institution.
Université Bourgogne Europe is also back in this year’s CWTS Leiden Ranking Traditional Edition, which is based on publications indexed in Web of Science, with 805 publications listed, 9.0% of which are among the top 10% most cited in the world. For the record, University of Burgundy appeared in the 2020 edition of this same ranking with 7.5% of its publications listed among the top 10% most cited publications.
