A Université Bourgogne Europe alumnus appointed President of the CNRS !
This is great news for our community: the President of the French Republic has appointed Thierry Dauxois as President of the CNRS, France’s largest scientific research organization.
Before rising to the highest levels of French research, Thierry Dauxois completed his PhD in Physics in Dijon under the supervision of Michel Peyrard. This strong connection to Burgundy marks the starting point of an outstanding career.
A CNRS Research Director, former Vice President for Research at ENS de Lyon, and Director of the CNRS Institute of Physics since 2021, Thierry Dauxois embodies an ambitious and committed vision of French science.
We are proud to count among our alumni a leading figure who will help advance and promote the excellence of French research on the national and international stage.
