IUVV brought together the international scientific community of oenology for the WAC-IVAS 2026 Congress

From 29 June to 3 July 2026, Université Bourgogne Europe‘s Jules Guyot IUVV organised the WAC-IVAS 2026 international congress in Dijon, bringing together nearly 250 researchers from 24 countries to discuss advances in viticulture, oenology and wine sciences.

Over five days, Université Bourgogne Europe’s Jules Guyot University Institute of Vine and Wine (IUVV) organised the WAC-IVAS 2026 international conference in Dijon, in partnership with the UNESCO Chair in ‘Wine-growing Cultures and Traditions’ and with the support of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). This edition marked a highlight for wine research by bringing together, for the first time, the In Vino Analytica Scientia (IVAS) and Wine Active Compounds (WAC) conferences.

In total, nearly 250 researchers from 24 countries gathered in Dijon to present their work and discuss the latest advances in analytical sciences applied to grapes, wine and spirits, as well as in viticulture and oenology. The conferences, oral presentations and poster sessions facilitated scientific exchanges and the development of new international collaborations.

This event enabled IUVV and UBE to showcase their research activities in the field of viticulture and wine. Hosting WAC-IVAS 2026 also raised the profile of Dijon and Burgundy as a hub for scientific exchange on wine-related issues, with the support of numerous partners, including the OIV and Dijon Métropole.
