Researchers from Université Bourgogne Europe to Participate in Les Naturelles de Montbard 2026

From June 5 to 7, 2026, the town of Montbard will host the first edition of Les Naturelles de Montbard: Festival of Natural Histories, a cultural and scientific event dedicated to the history of natural sciences and to the relationships between human societies and their environment.

On this occasion, several researchers from Université Bourgogne Europe will take part in the festival’s discussions and activities. Philippe Amiotte-Suchet and Marie-Charlotte Anstett, from the Biogéosciences laboratory, along with Jean-Pierre Garcia from the ArTeHiS laboratory, will contribute their expertise to this event, which aims to foster knowledge sharing and reflection on the living world.

Over three days, conferences, workshops, guided walks, concerts, and public discussions will bring together artists, researchers, local residents, and stakeholders from across the region. Topics will include soils, water, air, forests, animals, and plants, offering a multidisciplinary perspective on our relationship with nature. Sponsored by Guillaume Lecointre and Chantal Colleu-Dumond, the 2026 edition seeks to combine scientific, artistic, and civic perspectives to better understand contemporary environmental and ecological challenges.

Most activities are free of charge, subject to registration. The festival will take place in Montbard from 2:00 p.m. on June 5 to 1:00 p.m. on June 7, 2026.
