Shanghai Thematic Rankings 2026: Université Bourgogne Europe advances in three thematic areas
Since 2014, Université Bourgogne Europe has been featured in several international reference rankings that highlight the quality of its education and research. For the tenth consecutive year, UBE is also included in the Shanghai ranking and advances in three thematic areas.
Following the publication of its overall ranking, which is released every year on August 15, and as happens every year during the same period, Shanghai, the prestigious international ranking, has just released its thematic rankings.
Université Bourgogne Europe is confirmed in 2 thematic areas:
- “Medical Technology” (201-300)
- “Atmospheric Science” (301-400)
The establishment’s position is strengthened in 3 thematic areas:
- “Ecology” (301-400)
- “Biological Science” (401-500)
- “Physics” (401-500)
Despite a slight decline, UBE maintains its position for the 10th consecutive year in one discipline:
- “Food Science and Technology” (201-300)
These new rankings further strengthen UBE’s strategic position and scientific power.
The university commends all researchers, doctoral students, and administrative and technical staff who daily dedicate themselves with talent and passion to their missions, which contribute to the prestige of our establishment, in close collaboration with our partners (CHU Dijon Bourgogne, CGFL and ONR CNRS, INRAE and INSERM).
As a reminder, the 2026 Shanghai ranking includes Université Bourgogne Europe for the 10th consecutive year between 701st and 800th place, and 22nd place nationally. UBE is thus among the top 5% of institutions worldwide. This ranking confirms the importance of its commitment and its leading role in the development of Higher Education and Research in Bourgogne Franche-Comté.
