Université Bourgogne Europe marks the 90th anniversary of the Populaire Front

To mark the 90th anniversary of the Popular Front, Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) is partnering with an exhibition organised at the Gare de Lyon in Paris, in collaboration with Historia magazine. This exhibition looks back at this major episode in French social and political history and enables the general public to gain a better understanding of the events, key figures and transformations that shaped the year 1936.

As part of this project, UBE has contributed to the design of the exhibition’s historical content, drawing on the expertise of Jean Vigreux, a professor of contemporary history and researcher Université Bourgogne Europe. A specialist in 20th-century political and social history, he has written several texts on the Popular Front, which have been adapted for the display panels presented to the public.

This collaboration illustrates the UBE’s commitment to showcasing the expertise of its researchers and promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge to as wide an audience as possible. By combining academic research with historical outreach, this exhibition thus offers a new opportunity to foster dialogue between scholarly work and the general public.
